BECOMING CATHOLIC (RCIA)
The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) is a year-long process of formation and discernment for those interested in becoming Catholic. It is open to adults seeking baptism, those baptized in another Christian denomination, and those who were baptized in the Catholic Church but received no further Catholic formation. Program begins in September each year and meets weekly, culminating at the Easter Vigil.
ADULT CONFIRMATION
The Sacrament of Confirmation is "necessary for the completion of baptismal grace." For by it, the baptized "are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit," thus making them more faithful witnesses to Christ in the world. (CCC, 1285)
For Catholics who are baptized and received First Holy Communion as a child but not Confirmation, an 8-week program on Sunday evenings is offered each spring semester.
