Being a minority within the broader American Catholic Church, the contributions of African Americans to the Church have not been widely recognized. The inspiring stories of these future saints not only provide us with models of holiness and charity but are a way for Black American Catholics to have their contributions and history more deeply appreciated by the Church at large.
