Message for August 12, 2026
Blessings upon your break this summer!
I hope that you’ve been able to get away to see family & friends or onto actual vacation!
If not, I’d love to take you out to breakfast lunch dinner or the latest event your schedule permits.
Graduate school is demanding and I’d be honored to help you get out to museums or walks of coffees, meals, conversations or gatherings.
Please know of my concern for all of you, each day, all day long. Do call if I might be of help, to anyone, at any hour!
You are beloved by God, by your dear parents, by each and all of us, at every moment, we would rejoice to assist you at a moment’s notice at any hour if you’re in depressed, face trouble, or in need quick help. …otherwise, why are we here?
Grad school is demanding and wearing as the years go on. I for example did a molecular biophysics & biochemistry MS at Yale, an STB & STL at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, an AM & PhD in biochemistry at Harvard Medical School and a postdoc in molecular biology at Princeton, so I’ve a sense of being worked to death and at times and thus I mightily respect your achievements and how costing they can be.
Please know that we respect your stature, abilities, and work ethic and hope to support you amidst the mammoth frame of some of them.
I thus also hope you allow yourself a break. God love you!
Father George Salzmann OSFS PhD STL
Chaplain to the Graduate & Professional Schools
